World Cup squad announced Sri Lanka Dinesh Chandimal did not replace the squad.

Jeevan Mendis, who took 6 wickets in three matches as well as his unbeaten fifty. Thirimanne provincial tournament's second highest scorer. Angelo Mathews, who scored a century and 82 runs in this tournament, got the place in the World Cup squad. However, the only specialist spinner in Sri Lanka's World Cup squad could not make much better in the Vanderas provincial tournament. The media said he was kept in the World T20 because he did well in international T-Twenty. After the change of bowling action, Dhananjay reasoned to lose his effectiveness after the action was taken.
