Before the announcement of the World Cup team, the Afghan
Cricket Board (ACB) has appeared with a big surprise. Without any prediction, they removed Asghar Afghans from the
role of captain Akram Akhtar on Friday. They also announced the primary squad
for the World Cup.
On the other hand, Asghar chose three new captains for the
three versions of Afghanistan .
In the last four years, 31-year-old Asghar, who led the
national team in all the editions,
In his place, captain Rahmat Shah, Gulbadin Naib and Rashid
Khan have been given the captaincy of Tests, ODIs and T20 teams respectively.
Afghan cricket poster Rashid has been named the T20 captain
as well as the one-day team vice-captain. Hashmatullah has been given the
responsibility of the Test and Twenty20 team. Shahidi and Shafiqullah Shafiq.
ACB chairman Azizullah Fazli said, "There is no other
reason behind the removal of Asghar," the World Cup has allowed us to play
with nine full members of the ICC. We thought this is a good time to bring
about leadership changes. "
Asghar will also help new captains as one of the senior
members of the team.
After the 2015 World Cup, the all-rounder Mohammad Nabi
removed the leadership of Asghar and led the team to the leadership of the ACB.
His record as captain is good enough.
Afghans won 31 ODIs and 37 of 46 Twenty-Ats under Asghar. Afganistan's
Test debut and his first Test victory also led him.
Three new captains have experience of leadership, only spin
wizard Rashid. The experience is not very enjoyable.
Rasheed led Afghanistan
to defeat in three one-day internationals Nayee, who will lead the World Cup,
has captained only two first-class matches so far.
